We are excited to announce that this year's York Stage School End of Year Showcase will be titled "Bright Lights, Big Stage." This show will celebrate musicals inspired by and set in the vibrant Big Apple, the home of Broadway, New York City.
Students will showcase a variety of pieces from classic musicals like Annie, Bugsy Malone, and Guys and Dolls, as well as more modern favourites such as Two Strangers Carry a Cake (Across New York), Rent, and Hells Kitchen, an exciting new musical by Alicia Keys.
With productions like Fame and Chorus Line delving into the challenges of life on stage, alongside 42nd Street, which celebrates the magic of theatre, New York has served as a muse for writers and creatives throughout the years. We are eager for our students to draw inspiration from this vibrant backdrop as they bring this sensational show to life.
